Tucker B’s – Jungle

Tucker B's
A new release from Tucker B’s, this lo-fi Australian band who, though formed in the last century, have not been massively prolific over the intervening years between 1994 and today. They have ramped things up a bit this side of the millennium though with two albums and an EP coming out in the last seven years.
‘Jungle’ put me in mind of Clinic’s output in places although there are country undertones in the guitar work on the song. It rolls along at a decent pace throughout and gains a nice urgency towards the end as it takes on elements more of the ilk of Grandaddy. It’s a good, yearning track and fully indicative of the rest of the band’s work but I don’t imagine it will catapult them into the indie rock global hierarchy.
Given their slacker approach though they may be quite content with gaining only a handful more loyal fans, and what’s wrong with that?
