The Pains of Being Pure at Heart

Twee-gaze Brooklyn band The Pains of Being Pure at Heart will continue to win hearts both pure and not so pure next month with a new single and one-off date in London. The band will release ‘Come Saturday’ on 24th August on Fortuna POP! records.

‘Come Saturday’ is taken from their self-titled debut album but die hard fans need not fear – the band have promised an EP of brand new material in October. Plus, by the end of the year they’ll have already begun work on album number two. Here’s what singer Kip Berman has to say about the new single:

“It’s about loving someone that lives far away and celebrating the time that you do have together. Does that sound like a greeting card? I mean, it’s about fucking.”

Fans will be able to decide for themselves next week – The Pains of Being Pure at Heart will play a one-off gig at London’s newly re-opened Garage in Highbury on 4th August. Their previous London shows all sold out, so act fast!
