The Longcut

Don’t you just love seriously repetitive music with irritating vocals and uninteresting instrumentation? Me neither, but it seems as though The Longcut must, otherwise they’d have never recorded this track, let alone released it as a single and filmed a video.

True, The Longcut don’t fall down everywhere, the mix on the track is pulled off skillfully, giving every piece of the fairly heavy orchestration a place, making it sit perfectly without any clashes or lost sounds.

Repetitive vocals work in dance music, because nobody listens to dance music vocals, they’re just filler ontop of the bass and drums, but the beats on ‘Repeated’ are just too flat and plodding to excite, making the whole thing falter like so many drunken toddlers.
