Much-hyped electro-rock duo The Big Pink have made their debut album available to hear for free from their official site. A Brief History of Love, due to be released on 14th September, is available at www.musicfromthebigpink.com for one week only.

In the latest effort by a band to beat the leaks, fans can get a preview of the album a full six weeks a head of its release on 4AD. New single ‘Dominos’ is also available as a free MP3. As the title of the album might suggest, the album’s main lyrical theme is relationships. Milo Cordell recently told 6Music:

“Every song is a love song to some degree, about every different aspect of love. The good, the bad, the boring, the exciting, the dreams, the nightmares, the whole thing and I guess that’s what encompasses the whole album, and we have a song called ‘A Brief History Of Love’ so it’s apt.”

A genuinely ground-breaking British debut, or bloke rock with a shoegaze sheen? You decide! The full tracklist is as follows:

1. ‘Crystal Visions’
2. ‘Too Young to Love’
3. ‘Dominos’
4. ‘Love in Vain’
5. ‘At War with the Sun’
6. ‘Velvet’
7. ‘Golden Pendulum’
8. ‘Frisk’
9. ‘A Brief History of Love’
10. ‘Tonight’
11. ‘Count Backwards from Ten’
