On January 20, 2014, Canadian troubadour Doug Paisley will release his third studio album, entitled Strong Feelings, a follow-up to 2010′s much lauded Constant Companion. Modestly describing the record as“just 10 new songs.”, Paisley’s personal lo-fi approach to his song-writing is still very much present, though sees him expanding on his established sound by means of “revolving band of brothers” taking up additional instruments, fleshing the record out.
With Constant Companion garnering praise from the likes of UNCUT, Rolling Stone, and Mojo (who included it in their top ten albums of the year) it’s clear that Paisley has set already set the bar impressively high for the forthcoming album, however, with an inordinate amount of musical experience under his belt, plus an array of talented musicians at his back, it’s safe to say that the highly anticipated Strong Feelings will not only live up to exceptions, but quite possibly exceed them.
