When he isn’t fronting The Bad Seeds or Grinderman like some moustached preacher, or presenting the 2009 Turner Prize, or writing the script to Gladiator 2 (!), Nick Cave writes books. In fact, he’s got a new novel in the works, entitled The Death of Bunny Munro. It will be published by Canongate on 3rd September.

In preparation for the publication of the book, Cave will give a book reading at the iTunes Live Festival in London. He’ll appear at Roundhouse Freedom Studios in London on 24th July. Anyone interested in attending can enter a draw at the book’s official site.

According to Amazon, “The Death of Bunny Munro recounts the last journey of a salesman in search of a soul. Following the suicide of his wife, Bunny, a door-to-door salesman and lothario, takes his son on a trip along the south coast of England. He is about to discover that his days are numbered”. This will be Cave’s first book since And The Ass Saw The Angel, published in 1989.

In other news, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds will play Latitude this weekend, and the first four Bad Seeds records were recently reissued on Mute.
