Metallica party like it’s 1988
While I was tucked up in my stable last night, bed socks on, nose stuffed into a bag of something naughty (hay), a few hundred miles away, Metallica, those Gods of metal, pomp and leather, were bring Reading Festival (anyone else remember when it was Reading Rock?) to a close.
Like a rich toddler’s first birthday, the show featured fireworks and pyrotechnics, as well as brand new songs. Which was largely pointless as everyone was there for ‘Enter Sandman’, ‘Nothing Else Matters’ and ‘Seek and Destroy’.
The latter closed the show.
Hmn, almost worth braving the sixth-formers scattered on the floor, all snogging mouths like slugs canoodling; the warm, expensive beer and a million twats wearing novelty hats with bad bums from all the £6 bean burgers.
