Patchwork Pirates hit London for le cool

June 9, 2009 News 1 Comment

Our friends over at le cool London are hosting a shindig tomorrow (10 June) at the Queen of Hoxton. We’re going to be there, and you ought to too. Wye? Because quite frankly, the line-up is immense; Patchwork Pirates, Slutty Fringe DJs, Tim Yen Yen and Lulu and The Lampshades. And live art. Woo. Who said London wasn’t friendly?

Here’s the lowdown on the stonking line-up, directly from the mouth of le cool:

Patchwork Pirates are Terence Teh, Tom McCarthy and Alex Stevenson; one works with Dazed, one at Fabric and the other with Soul Jazz and Brownswood. You pick which. Somehow they’ve managed to weather through almost 13 years of DJing (some more, some less) and multiple incarnations of their RAWKUS east London parties – most recently the juggernaut that is Thugs & Hugs. Always about new music, bass music, sweet music, rap music… So Necessary.

Lulu and The Lampshades… one of London’s best kept secrets, Lulu and her dancing lampshades will charm you with their constant instrument changes, banter and infectious songs.

Tim Ten Yen - He’s smart, sincere and wearing his crisp suit, shirt and tie, he’s the sensational Singing Salaryman, singing his own pop songs just for you. As heard on Radio 1, 2 and 6, we guarantee you’ll be grinning from ear to ear with his feel good performance.

Slutty Fringe DJs: Editors of the destination blog of the same name, the duo DJ skills are increasingly called and in the past few months have supported Justice at the Mixmag Xmas party, played with the Klaxons and Little Boots on New Year’s Eve, dragged over 800 people out of bed on the January 2 for an East End rave up and launched their own record label, Hot Pockets.

See you there!
