Cats and Cats and Cats, Stairs To Korea and Ute are playing for us SOON

January 5, 2010 News Comments

Cats flyerJanuary is just so, like, drab. Right?

WRONG! Our next show, in a series of consistently amazing gigs, is coming up soon.

On Wednesday January 20, we’ll be taking over The Monarch in Camden with a trio of great music-types we’re tipping for great things in 2010.

Tickets can be bought from http://www.wegottickets.com/event/64114

We’ve got Cats and Cats and Cats‘ deftly-layered mix of post-rocky orchestral folk-pop with singer Ben George’s vocals unsure and volatile set against pounding crescendos with sumptuously layered violin and trumpet atmospherics.

And then we’re giving you Stairs To Korea, a.k.a. Will Vaughan, a frighteningly talented half-Icelandic multi-instrumentalist who crafts skewed pop music using an array of effects, synthesisers and a dinky white guitar.

Our openers are Ute, a three-piece from Oxford who’ve fast been gaining a reputation for their genre-bending live shows.

See y’all there!

'cause she considers the term 'music snob' redundant, because her music taste is infinitely better than yours and because she likes words a bit too much.
