Kenwood House on Hampstead Heath has been delighting audiences with open-air events since 1951, and it seems that events like Live By The Lake just get better with age. This year’s programme, which comes after a sabbatical year in 2012, sees the event returning in style. Taking place between the 23rd August and 1st September, this is your chance to lap up a range of treats from rock gods to choirs accompanied by fireworks; from opera to a screening of the 1952 classic Singing In The Rain accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.

The New York native comes across as a latter day Lou Reed / Jonathan Richman-like character although with statements such as “I believe the sound of popular music is the sound of mutts barking; frictions, and strange conglomerations, mistaken identifications, and odd-ball pairings.
