British Comedy Awards nominations announced
The nominations for this year’s British Comedy Awards have been announced. Jonathan Ross, who has of course stepped down as host for this year’s bash, is up for Best Comedy Entertainment Programme, while his best bud Russell Brand is nominated as Best Live Stand-Up Performer.
Elsewhere Issy Suttie is up for Best Female Comedy Newcomer for her turn as the geeky Dobby in Peep Show. While her co-star David Mitchell fights it out with James Corden and Ricky Gervais for Best TV Comedy Actor.
The ceremony, which is still without a named host, takes place on Saturday, December 6th and will be screened live on ITV.
Here is a curious moment from the 1991 awards when On the Hour took the gong for Best Radio Comedy.
