Brand sparks more outrage

November 17, 2008 Comedy 1 Comment

Everyone’s new favourite bad boy Russell Brand continues to provide plenty of column inches for the British tabloids. On Friday the Daily Mail got back into outrage mode to report on Brand’s appearance on David Letterman’s chat show in the US.

His performance there will, according to the Mail,  “only increase the concern of critics that his jokes about women are misogynistic.” The one minute clip, that seems to have got the paper into such a lather, can be viewed here. You can watch his full appearance at this link.

While in New York Brand has been recording a one hour special for Comedy Central. If 60 seconds got the Mail into a flap just think what 60 minutes will do to their constantly outraged journalists.

American comedy site The Apiary has a brief review of the show.

Brand tours Britain in early next year beginning in Reading on January 18th and ending in Glasgow on February 14th.

As far as the Daily Mail and Sun tabloids are concerned, Russell Brand can’t pass gas without causing them to go into fits.
I wish these tabloids newspapers would climb astride their steed of righteous indignation and gallop off into the sunset permanently.
    Their behavious borders on stalking.
