Beck to premiere an acoustic version of Modern Guilt

Beck
Beck has announced that he has recorded an acoustic version of last year’s Modern Guilt and will make one track per week available to stream on his official site. A four track EP of a selection of the acoustic tracks is also in the works.
‘Orphans’ is currently streaming, marking a year since the release of Modern Guilt:
“Modern Guilt was released one year ago this week! For the occassion we are putting up acoustic versions of the entire album recorded earlier this year after returning from the Japan tour (under severe jet lag). Tracks will be released weekly starting with this rendition of Orphans. There will be limited EP of four tracks from the session available soon.”
This is the just the latest in a flurry of activity by Beck on his official site. Last month, he announced his Record Club project, in which he and various musician friends set out to cover an entire album in one day, and then reveal the results, week-by-week, track-by-track, online. He is currently covering The Velvet Underground and Nico.
If that wasn’t enough, he’s also been posting DJ mixes in his Planned Obsolescence section, and in Irrelevant Topics, he’s posting conversations between “musicians, artists, writers, etc. on various subjects, without promotional pretext or editorial direction”. The first interviewee is Tom Waits, and part one, where they talk about homemade submarines and other such larks, is online now.
